Park Avenue Duplex
New York, NYThis beautiful duplex combination is a gut-renovation of two very small one-bedroom duplexes on top of a landmarked building on Park Avenue on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. The combined apartment has a unique a beautiful curved open stair. The railings are made of heat-formed Wilsonart resin panels giving the stair a smooth and durable finish. Two circular skylights were installed above the stair, basting light which articulates the geometry of the architecture.
On the lower level are an open Boffi kitchen, dining area and living room with a minimal fireplace and decorative lighting. A dark powdered with a deep stone sink is hidden behind frameless doors off the foyer which also leads to the primary bedroom suite with a office and primary bath.
On the upper floor are positions two matching boy and girl bedrooms under a full width skylight with innovation glass that transforms it form clear to opaque for privacy. On the other end of the floor is a family room with a guest murphy bed, a bar and large doors leading to a private terrace. The trace outdoor kitchen is a beautiful blue which matches the family room millwork.
